Lane Identity
Use your first two spells to secure trades, protect important creeps, and make the enemy lane choose between farm and health.
Windranger is a mobile core who rewards angles. She needs good Shackle Shot positioning and item timings that let Focus Fire kill before enemies reset.

Move when your wave is pushed and your first item timing is ready. The goal is not random fighting; it is turning pressure into map control.
Play around vision and cooldowns. Late fights are won by choosing the right target and preserving enough resources for the second spell cycle.

WR can play mid, offlane, or support. The role you pick determines your entire itemization and power curve.
Shackleshot stuns a target for 2.8 seconds at max level if there is a tree or unit behind them. The hitbox for the secondary target is generous — practice aiming slightly to the side of the primary target, not directly at the secondary unit. A tree at 45 degrees behind the target counts. In lane, position yourself so the enemy carry has their back to a tree or a creep wave. Free 2.8-second stuns win lanes.
Javelin gives a 26% chance to deal 100 bonus damage. On Windranger's Focus Fire (which attacks 3x per second), that means 0.78 procs per second = 78 bonus DPS from a single 2700-gold item. No other item gives this much damage on WR in the 15-20 minute window. Buy two Javelins, then finish Maelstrom + Daedalus. The damage spike between 18-25 minutes with 2 Javelins is absurd.
