Lane Identity
Use your first two spells to secure trades, protect important creeps, and make the enemy lane choose between farm and health.
Slark is a slippery carry who thrives when he controls vision. He wins by choosing fights where he can enter, reset, and re-enter with more stats.

Move when your wave is pushed and your first item timing is ready. The goal is not random fighting; it is turning pressure into map control.
Play around vision and cooldowns. Late fights are won by choosing the right target and preserving enough resources for the second spell cycle.

Most Slarks press R when they are low HP. The best Slarks press R when the fight starts, use the movement speed and invisibility to get behind the enemy carry, and kill them before they can react. Shadow Dance makes you invisible, gives you 40% move speed, and makes you immune to targeted spells. Use it to close distance, not to run away.
Dark Pact purges debuffs every 1.5 seconds for 6 seconds. If you are against a hero with a long-duration stun (like Shadow Shaman's Hex or Lion's Earth Spike), wait until the stun lands, then press Dark Pact. The second purge tick will remove the stun. A Slark who gets chain-stunned to death is a Slark who pressed Dark Pact too early.
The Slark hero portrait, ability icons, and item icons are loaded from publicly accessible Valve, Dota 2, or Steam CDN asset endpoints where available. They are contextual references for this independent gameplay guide and are not offered as downloadable asset packs.
