Lane Identity
Use your first two spells to secure trades, protect important creeps, and make the enemy lane choose between farm and health.
Phantom Assassin is a burst carry who needs controlled entry. She is terrifying when she jumps the right target and fragile when she commits before disables and saves are revealed.

Move when your wave is pushed and your first item timing is ready. The goal is not random fighting; it is turning pressure into map control.
Play around vision and cooldowns. Late fights are won by choosing the right target and preserving enough resources for the second spell cycle.
These four abilities define the hero's lane plan, fight timing, and target priority.

Secures last hits, slows targets, and applies damage from safety.

Your commit tool; jump only when escape or kill conditions are clear.

Protects farming patterns and helps approach fights from fog.

Turns damage items into lethal crit windows.
Buy for the problem in front of you: farm speed, target access, survival, or teamfight utility.

Stats and attack speed for farming.

Farm acceleration when the game allows scaling.

Kill and Roshan pressure when you need earlier fighting.

Essential against disables and magic burst.

Lockdown for mobile cores.

Late-game sustain when you can stand and hit.
PA is feast or famine. The difference is knowing when you can fight and when you must farm.
The most common PA mistake is joining fights before Desolator. With only Phase Boots and a Wraith Band, PA does 400 damage per crit on a 15% chance. That is not threatening. The enemy offlaner with a Vanguard takes 75 damage per hit. Do not fight before Desolator unless the kill is free. If your team is flaming you for not joining fights, mute them and keep farming.
Against Monkey King (who kills PA with Jingu stacks), buy a BKB and time your engages around his third hit cooldown. Against Axe (who calls through blur), buy a Black King Bar before Blink and save it for the Call. Against Sniper (who outranges you), buy a Blink Dagger and Smoke of Deceit — do not walk at him through a creep wave like a melee creep. Every so-called counter becomes beatable with the right itemization.
