Lane Identity
Use your first two spells to secure trades, protect important creeps, and make the enemy lane choose between farm and health.
Lifestealer is a durable carry who thrives against high-health heroes and spell-heavy lineups. His best fights start when he enters with a partner and immediately reaches the right target.

Move when your wave is pushed and your first item timing is ready. The goal is not random fighting; it is turning pressure into map control.
Play around vision and cooldowns. Late fights are won by choosing the right target and preserving enough resources for the second spell cycle.
These four abilities define the hero's lane plan, fight timing, and target priority.

Spell immunity and attack speed for commits or escapes.

Sustain and damage against high-health heroes.

Chase and stickiness for extended fights.

Initiation pairing, save, and repositioning tool.
Buy for the problem in front of you: farm speed, target access, survival, or teamfight utility.

Chase and armor for fighting.

Farm and fight damage when timing allows.

Earlier kill pressure and Roshan damage.

Lockdown for mobile targets.

Needed when Rage duration is not enough.

Late-game reliable catch.
These are two completely different playstyles masquerading as the same hero. Choose wrong and you throw the game.
Radiant Lifestealer is for games where you can farm for 18-20 minutes without losing all your outer towers. Armlet + Desolator is for games where the enemy deathballs at 15 minutes. If you are against a Lycan or Beastmaster, you do not have time for Radiant. If you are against a Spectre or Medusa, Armlet + Deso falls off too quickly. Read the enemy draft, not a guide.
Lifestealer + an initiator is one of the strongest combos in Dota 2. The best infestation targets: Spirit Breaker (global gank), Slardar (Blink + Stun + damage amp), Sand King (Epicenter delivery), and Storm Spirit (long-range pickoff). If your team has none of these, consider buying a Blink Dagger yourself and using Infest on a creep to approach fights.
The Lifestealer hero portrait, ability icons, and item icons are loaded from publicly accessible Valve, Dota 2, or Steam CDN asset endpoints where available. They are contextual references for this independent gameplay guide and are not offered as downloadable asset packs.
