Lane Identity
Use your first two spells to secure trades, protect important creeps, and make the enemy lane choose between farm and health.
Anti-Mage is a farming carry who wins through map speed. He needs disciplined lane survival and split-push patterns that force enemies to chase instead of group.

Move when your wave is pushed and your first item timing is ready. The goal is not random fighting; it is turning pressure into map control.
Play around vision and cooldowns. Late fights are won by choosing the right target and preserving enough resources for the second spell cycle.

The hero has one job: outpace the enemy carry. If you miss the timing, you become a liability your team has to cover.
Above Divine, Anti-Mage players who hit Battle Fury at or before 14 minutes win 54% of games. Those who hit it at 16+ minutes win 41%. The difference is almost never mechanical skill — it is wave management. If you are spending extra time walking between camps instead of cutting the wave and farming the adjacent jungle, you are losing 30+ gold per minute for no reason. The rule: never walk past a creep wave that you could have pushed.
Against a lineup that groups and pushes early (Death Prophet, Lycan, Pugna), a 14-minute Fury does not save you because there will be no safe farming space. In these games, consider going Manta Style first for the dispel and split push, or even a early Diffusal Blade if you need to fight early. The default Fury build is strong, but it is not automatic.
